Oh, good thing I wanted to check if my guide downgrade things are still revelant. I'll update my russian guide with this ASAP. (it hit top 2 russian guides on yearly popularity recently aswell ?)UPD: I think you need to fix that, it defaults to French language after the downgrade. I don't think that's what it should do, haha.
Seem to be running into some issues when using the Downgrader; not sure if I just missed something obvious or it's a legitimate issue. Probably the former given my unfamiliarity with modding the game. If I use the radio downgrader options (either by Sneed or Legacy), I get stuck in the downgrading process at the line: "[Radio Downgrader] del install.bat" No error, just hangs.
Hey so i tried multiple times to install the downgrade, but i always got an error message saying that the Empty path name is note legal. I changed my GTAIV to my SSD and it did nothing, do you have some advices ?
I did managed to downgrade it using the method described in catsmackaroo's Ultimate GTA IV Setup Guide video, but I figured I might just describe my experience, I have a couple vanilla backups if you'd like me to try anything.
This downgrade patch allows you to go back to version v1.0.4.0 of GTA IV. Apparently this is considered the best version which is best optimized and the least buggy and graphics closer to the Xbox 360 version.
Original Story: Last week, YouTube footage emerged showing that Grand Theft Auto 5's 1.08 patch for PS4 and Xbox One had seemingly downgraded elements of the visual presentation. Parallax occlusion mapping was gone, anisotropic texture filtering had apparently been made even worse than it was already, while collision physics had been simplified. On top of that, long distance pop-in also seemed to take a turn for the worst. Had Rockstar really released an update for the game that made GTA 5 significantly worse, not better?
However, the game's texture filtering set-up looks unchanged between versions 1.02 and 1.09, and based on the original video, we're unsure to what it extent it was ever changed - if at all. There also appears to be parity between our two tested versions when it comes to deformation and physics, so if there was a downgrade in 1.08, it does now seem to have been addressed, as suggested.

So follow the path to resolution - downgrading the version of GTA - to version 1.0.2372.0 ... after downgrading [replaced the 4 game files with downgraded version and moved the update page to the update folder in main game directory] launch game - choose story mode - 12 minutes in loading the game crashes with no error msg / window..
The first thing you want to do is check to see if your game runs without mods. Run the update or run the downgrade but if your game does not run in plain vanilla mode there is NO WAY it will run with mods installed.

Is there any older versions I could run the game / mods on? Was hoping to have something he could play around with on Christmas day. To address the rage plugin I noticed a video where the guy claimed this was the issue for most having my problem so I gave it a shot.. I also confirmed game works fine by its self prior to adding anything. I once did replace a downgraded update.rpf file with the new update.rpf file...in the update folder.. tried running game using older version of gta with new version update.rpf just experimenting / trying to find a work around .. it worked but circled back to original issue of L not opening ped menu.

Most likely you do not have a gameconfig installed. Given right now we are waiting for an updated scriphook and given you are new to modding it's best to be patient for a few days and wait.
