The Plot of Kalyug Aur Ramayan

The Premise

The film begins with a scene in heaven, where Lord Ram (Arun Govil) is celebrating his coronation with his wife Sita (Deepika Chikhalia), his brother Lakshman (Sunil Lahri), his guru Vashisht (Dara Singh), and other gods and sages. He is informed by Narad (Rajesh Puri) that his devotee Hanuman (Manoj Kumar) is waiting for his darshan. Lord Ram meets Hanuman and praises his devotion and service. He asks Hanuman what he wants as a boon. Hanuman says that he wants to see Lord Ram's leela (divine play) in every yuga (era). Lord Ram grants his wish and tells him that he will send him to earth in every yuga to witness his leela. He also tells him that he will be born as a human in Kalyug (the age of darkness) and will face many difficulties and temptations. He warns him not to lose his faith and devotion in him.

The film then shifts to Kalyugic India, where Hanuman is born as Pavan Kumar, a simple and honest man who works as a driver for Dashrath (Om Prakash), a wealthy businessman who has three sons: Raman (Rajiv Goswami), Dhaman (Navin Nischol), and Bharat (Shashi Puri). Dashrath is a devotee of Lord Ram and treats Pavan Kumar like his own son. He also has a daughter-in-law Sarita (Madhavi), who is married to Raman but is unhappy with him. Raman is a spoiled brat who spends his father's money on gambling, drinking, and women. He is also involved in illegal activities with Bhairo Singh (Prem Chopra), a notorious gangster who calls himself Ravan. Dhaman is a greedy businessman who cheats his clients and partners. He is married to Kamla (Bindu), who is equally cunning and selfish. Bharat is a lawyer who fights for justice and truth. He is married to Sita (Anita Raj), who is a kind-hearted and religious woman.

He is also involved in various crimes such as murder, rape, kidnapping, extortion, smuggling, etc. Judge Shyam Diwakar is a fearless and honest judge who challenges Bhairo Singh/Ravan's authority and delivers justice to his victims. He also sentences him to death for his crimes.

  • The conflict between Bhairo Singh/Ravan and Pavan Kumar/Hanuman: Bhairo Singh/Ravan is the main antagonist of the film who represents the evil forces of Kalyug. He is also the reincarnation of Ravan, the demon king who abducted Sita in Ramayan. Pavan Kumar/Hanuman is the main protagonist of the film who represents the good forces of Kalyug. He is also the reincarnation of Hanuman, the monkey god who helped Lord Ram rescue Sita in Ramayan. They are constantly at loggerheads with each other, as Pavan Kumar/Hanuman tries to stop Bhairo Singh/Ravan's nefarious plans and expose his crimes.

The Resolution

The film reaches its climax when Bhairo Singh/Ravan kidnaps Sarita, Sita, Champa, and Kamla and takes them to his hideout. He also kills Judge Shyam Diwakar and escapes from prison. He plans to marry Champa and kill the other women. Pavan Kumar/Hanuman, along with Bharat, Lakshman, Angad, Vibhishan, Sugreev, and others, raids his hideout and rescues the women. He also confronts Bhairo Singh/Ravan and defeats him in a fierce battle. He reveals his true identity as Hanuman and shows him a vision of Lord Ram. He tells him that he has come to end his tyranny and restore Dharma (righteousness) in Kalyug. He also tells him that he has a chance to repent for his sins and seek Lord Ram's forgiveness. Bhairo Singh/Ravan realizes his mistake and surrenders to Pavan Kumar/Hanuman. He also asks for Sarita's forgiveness and blesses her marriage with Pavan Kumar/Hanuman.

The film ends with a happy note, as Pavan Kumar/Hanuman marries Sarita and becomes the son-in-law of Dashrath. Raman and Dhaman also repent for their sins and reunite with their father. Bharat and Sita also live happily with their family. Pavan Kumar/Hanuman thanks Lord Ram for giving him the opportunity to witness his leela in Kalyug. He also says that he will always be ready to serve him in any yuga.
